What kind of shoes or boots would be appropriate for Boston during winter?

I’m from Southern California and the weather here is beautiful, but I’m going to be in Boston, MA for winter break, so it’ll be around Christmas time. My friends from around here are saying I should survive with Ugg type shoe, but I wanted to be sure so I was wondering what kind of shoes/boots I would need to survive the cold weather and snow.

UGGS. It’s already freezing here, and Uggs would be the most comfortable and the most warm. Just make sure to waterproof them, so that they don’t get completely ruined when it snows and dirt and stuff get on it.

    any UGG type shoe or boot is adequate!!! You might want to bring or buy here some rain boots if it’s wet/slushy! Hope you have a great trip!
